NVJPHOTO List Rules.  13/08/2007

Subscribing to the  NVJ Photo e-list (NVJPHOTO), sending and receiving mails to and from the group, means that you have agreed to follow and uphold the rules of the list.

MEMBERSHIP – Membership of NVJPhoto is open to freelance and staff NUJ member journalists who are photographers/visual journalists, that is union members who regularly create and supply stills and/or moving images.

Applications to join NVJPhoto must be approved by the list Moderators.

The Moderators may approve a person not otherwise qualified for membership providing that that person can offer skills and experience which in the opinion of the moderators will bring useful benefit to the list.  You must leave the list if you no longer fit the membership criteria.

PERSONAL INFORMATION – E-mails from members must always include their full name. Members should provide a brief biography and details of the work they are involved in when they make their first post to the list.

POSTING - Members agree to post as per the style guide.  All postings to NVJPhoto should concern issues affecting trade unionism and/or professional photography only. While this gives a very wide remit, the moderators will terminate any thread that they consider off topic. Person to person discussions that are not of general interest are discouraged.

PRIVACY – Messages on NVJPhoto are strictly private. Do not re-post or quote NVJPhoto messages without the specific permission of the original poster and anybody quoted in the original posting. Attention is drawn to the rules on subject lines, trimming and quoting.

ABUSE – Members agree not to make any postings which, in the opinion of the moderators, are abusive or defamatory. You are solely responsible for anything you say in a message to NVJPhoto. You may be banned from NVJPhoto or placed on 'moderation' without warning at the sole discretion of a Moderator.

The final decision about moderation and any other matters concerning the list and its operation lies with the list moderators.
